Rockhound GPS Iphone / Ipad app

There is this really great site out there that rockhounds can use to share their travels/adventures-  EveryTrail.com -  lets people record their treks/ outings  and post for everyone to see (over 200,000 trips logged).  You can use a GPS and embed pictures/video that you take along the way or use the Iphone app that automatically embeds  pictures/video taken on your hike with your Iphone.

EveryTrail lets users create highly interactive online travel logs that they can share share with their friends and the Everytrail community.

Travelers can upload their photos and recorded GPS data from their GPS device or mobile phones to the site. EveryTrail automatically add geotags to their photos. Travelers can then create interactive Google Maps, with trip routes, geotagged photos/ video and their trip story combined.

I have started a “group” on EveryTrail called “Rockhound” and I am looking for people to start uploading their rockhound trips for everyone to check out and enjoy.

I will be trying out my app on my next outing and embedding lots of pictures and video for everyone to see.  Please feel free to sign up and join my group and start recording your rockhounding adventures to share with everyone.

I will post whenever I get updated trips.  Now lets get rockhounding!!!
