Tecopa- Sperry Wash, trilobites, opal, Amethyst sites

Hi everyone-we are planning to go out to Tecopa area for the
Thanksgiving week. We hope to hit Sperry Wash, the trilobites, opal,
and ? Except for the opal we have not been to any of the other sites
out there. I have heard about an Amethyst site also. Can anyone
give us any recommendations for places to go, or more directions for
any sites to help us find them. We have GPS.

Also, we were wondering about were to stay. Is it real cold that
time of year at night? We are willing to camp, but we have our 5
year old with us and I don’t want to freeze. I read the INN at
Shoshone is not great and pretty expensive. And Baker’s hotels seem
real bad? If we camp, is Tecopa Hot Springs worth spending the
money or should we just camp out in “nature”?

Lastly, is anybody else planning to go at that time?

Thanks!
Trinette
